MAC// archie's girls collection LAUNCH

Whoa whoa whoa I must have been really keeping off the makeup blogs to not notice today was the launch date for North America [?] of MAC's new collection

Archie's Girls is vibrant fun and super nostalgic for those who read them as a child/teen/even now
The collection swatches beautifully and even if you have some dupes who can resist the packaging?

I'm glad they're doing a bit more daring with colors though. Especially Veronica.

My friend freaked out over them and of course she bought something from the collection.
Got her hands on the Veronica blush which really really suited her darker complexion. It made her cheeks pop and she's super bubbly and fun so the blush made her look that much cuter~ :>
It looks violet in pan but on her it swatches to a deep warm pink.

Her haul today. Pictured if the box, the actual makeup
and a 5 dollar Stitch phone case I talked her into getting.
:9

Here's some snaps of the display at the mall I work at!

I also grabbed a description of the various products. Maybe something will catch your eye?

I myself am staring at the Pearlmatte face powder in 'Veronica's Blush' trying to resist buying it.

Hurry before it runs out! Burnaby's Metrotown MAC has already said they quickly ran out of stock this morning when girls lined up at 10 am [SO EARLY FOR ME] to haul!

REVIEWS:// smashbox sheer focus tinted moisturizer + Chanel Rouge Coco HYDRATING CRÈME LIP COLOUR

Blogging in the wee hours again...I always do this haha
I've finally uploaded the pics so I can do some proper reviews!

First up is Smashbox's Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer

Taken from the SEPHORA website:

What it is:
A vitamin-packed moisturizer with a hint of color.

What it does:
Smashbox Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer is a lightweight, revolutionary sheer color formula for naturally radiant skin. A healthy complexion starts with unique citrus honey ingredients for long-lasting hydration and oil absorption, with UVA/UVB SPF 15 added to guard against future sun damage. Vitamins C and E offer protection against free radicals and antiaging peptides improve elasticity. Skin stays flawless and protected with a smooth, matte finish all day long.

What else you need to know:
The moisturizer does not contain oil, paraben, or fragrance.

Pretty self explanatory. Now if I hadn't tried this at a friend's house before I bought it I never would've taken the plunge since it seems a little steep for a tinted moisturizer.

My skin is dry and tends to get oily if I don't set my makeup properly etc etc

As you can see, I bought the lightest shade because it's what seemed most suited to my face.
My friend has a shade darker so it looked like I had tanned...only my face ffffffff

Swatch on my hand!

Before application: Some red spots and dullness

[no photoshop. happy dayyy]

And after! And set with MAC powder that I've reviewed before in my other entry.

I've been using smashbox for a few weeks now and I love it.
MY SKIN IS DRINKING THIS UP
I feel that it really keeps my skin supple and bouncy and I don't need much coverage.
I think it's also been improving my skin because instead of heavy concealer/foundation I just slap this on and some setting powder and I'm ready to go. If I need extra coverage I just put more layers of it on.

I wouldn't recommend this for people with very obvious discoloration/difference in skin texture like acne etc
I feel that it wouldn't cover much but I like it a lot.
I'll repurchase unless I can find something better.
But I doubt it since I'm loving what it's doing for my skin.

ONTO THE NEXT ITEM:

My first expensive lipstick! How excitinfg!
One of my dear friends perlevoire has a discount at the store she works at so I grabbed one of these!

Description from the website:
A modern interpretation of classic creme lip colour as an homage to the rich life and legacy of 'Coco' Chanel. Lightweight lip colour glides on for easy application, and features a Hydratendre complex to help soften, soothe and condition lips - even boosting their ability to hold in moisture - for a plumper, smoother and healthier-looking appearance. A range of wearable shades with full-coverage finishes, from matte to pearl to soft shimmer.

The shade I grabbed was Rose Dentelle
I looove it. It's my lips but better shade and it goes with any outfit any occasion
I can't say it's too hydrating because my REVLON lip butters are way better.
This one flakes on my lips but if I layer it with a clear gloss I'm content
I also think that it lasts quite a while for me so I'm happy!

I'm really wanting to try some YSL next but I'm running out of shades to buy zzz

Moisturizing:

Longevity:

I also have some outfit snaps of a new hairstyle I tried.
Take a high ponytail and amp it up by curling the ends.
Super cute and the high ponytail gives your hair some volume up at top~

OOTD for that day

top: Urban Behavior
cardigan: H&M
leggings: Korea
hair accessory: H&M

I also got a new phoooone but more on that next time!

Night night!

Recent gets//quick reviews! [MAC studio careblend, eBay purchases, Fairy Drops Scandal Queen Waterproof Mascara, Solone 30 sec smoody pencil]

I've been so busy with my part time job and trying to enjoy the last of summer that I've almost completely forgotten about this blog!

I guess all I can say is that I'm happy with where I am, and who I'm with.

I've been buying little things here and there to add to my makeup/wardrobe.

This eyeliner formula is soooo smooth and so vibrant. Perfect. Even if my eyes water or I rub them a little they stay put. This swatch was just one pass. IMAGINE.

I bought these here.

I use them so much for everyday and they really bring life to my eyes even when I'm tired ehehe~ I use it often for cosplay a lot too since it's sooo bright and light catching.

Needed a new powder/foundation to set my makeup and it's been amazing. Even better than my MUFE Duo matte powder I used to use. This is much kinder to my skin skin and doesn't clog my pores. Goes on super light so not much coverage but still nice!
I'm wearing the MAC powder and the gel liners in this pic :> Also I love my new spiked headband. I wear it as often as I can. It just adds that certain touch to an otherwise neutral outfit~

I also took advantage of Sasa having a free shipping event to grab Fairy Drops mascara because I've been wanting to try it for ever.
So far it's treating me well! Sometimes it flakes a tiny tiny bit but it's nothing I can't handle since my heroine mascara also flakes. But I must say the length is AMAZING from Fairy Drops. I was not disappointed. It also holds a curl fairly well. AND WATERPROOF.

Crazy length on my sparse and super straight lashes!!
And see what I mean about the payoff on these smoody pencils? Super nice.

The boyfriend also bought me these suuuuper cool tights! Sorry for the weird angle but it captured the kirakira ness! They are so unique and I've never seen a design like that before! I'm so grateful he bought these for me. Even if I wasn't willing to spend yet more money on my tights addiction orz||||

They were a very reasonable price and haven't torn yet!

Until next time when I can review more things! :>

Holiday Spirit!// Dolly Wink liquid eyeliner review// life snaps

Hi guys! How is everybody's Christmas?
I hope it was wonderful regardless of religion!
I know our family still celebrates!

As for me, I've been busy shopping and taking some time off for myself. Reading some of my favorite books.
My boyfriend and I recently had our 2 year anniversary so we spent a whole day together and had a nice dinner at White Spot!
I'm planning a couples shoot too, so more on that when it actually happens! :3

Also I got new hair done recently. Dark auburn all over except for a bright red ombre at the bottom.
LOVE!

I'll just post some pics and leave you all with well wishes!

Friend's dog who lives nearby! He's out of the province for schooling so the bf and I dropped by the house to wish his mum a happy birthday!

The place where I work is magical HAHA

I leave you guys with this song I've been listening to recently! It suits the holidays perfectly in my opinion.

[why does leopard print suit christm-]
ENOUGH QUESTIONS, GOODBYE

I think it's the general sense of 'up to no good' and the red lips and smokey eyes that makes me think of the holiday nights ;D

Dolly Wink no. 2 review// what I've been wearing recently

Hey readers! [very small amount I know orz|||]
I'm at school right now and needing a bit of downtime from working so I thought I'd do another post!

I received the limited edition set of Tsubasa eyelashes because my friend showed me a website called AdamBeauty . If you don't know, they sell their Dolly Wink lashes for a super affordable price. I paid 15ish dollar for a no.2/no.6 set and limited edition eyelash case.  The case is SO useful. I can fit almost all of my lashes in there.

As for the no.2 lashes....well I was sort of disappointed. Maybe I was too used to the stiffer band, but it was quite difficult to put on, and I'd like to say I'm pretty adept at putting lashes on after almost 3 years of using them.

They were however super comfortable because of said flimsy lash band.

BUT I also noticed how much I had to cut to make them fit my eyes. /SOB
So it was kind of a waste.  Oh well.
I will probably not repurchase.
Here's a pic of me wearing the set together when I had a 'gyaru' day out with a friend of mine. A saleslady in Costa Blanca complimented me on my lashes so all was well >w<
I've even had a few girls compliment me when I wear them out clubbing.

Also what do you guys think about the hair style? I tried the twists on the side /mock braids. Kinda hostess-y? I think it'd be good for nights out. A new way to do hair that's not up or down but in-between?

Another thing I've been doing is using lip products again.  Usually because of school and my schedule I just slap on lip balm and go and also because my glosses/lippies are scattered around the house lol...
So I took a go at finding them. It was a fun game of hide and seek and except for my one MAC ltd edition lippy, I think I've found them all!

My favorite go-to has been Etude House's lip tint in red. It moisturizes, isn't sticky at all, delivers a punch of color, and tingles, as it claims it has plumping properties. Since it already has a good color delivery, I like to layer it over my red lipsticks to keep my lips smooth and amp it up a bit. I don't see any plumping when I wear it, but summer or winter, it's one of my favorites to wear when I'm feeling brave.

I might not be able to update as [in]frequently now because school is getting reaaaally crazy aaaaaaaand I got a part time job!

That's right!

I'll be working at Godiva at Metrotown for the holiday season!
Hopefully they like me enough to keep me on for the rest of the year, because that would be great.
I'll start training in the next week or two, but until then, I gotta shop for work outfit. :>

Later!
