REVIEWS:// smashbox sheer focus tinted moisturizer + Chanel Rouge Coco HYDRATING CRÈME LIP COLOUR

Blogging in the wee hours again...I always do this haha
I've finally uploaded the pics so I can do some proper reviews!

First up is Smashbox's Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer

Taken from the SEPHORA website:

What it is:
A vitamin-packed moisturizer with a hint of color.

What it does:
Smashbox Sheer Focus Tinted Moisturizer is a lightweight, revolutionary sheer color formula for naturally radiant skin. A healthy complexion starts with unique citrus honey ingredients for long-lasting hydration and oil absorption, with UVA/UVB SPF 15 added to guard against future sun damage. Vitamins C and E offer protection against free radicals and antiaging peptides improve elasticity. Skin stays flawless and protected with a smooth, matte finish all day long.

What else you need to know:
The moisturizer does not contain oil, paraben, or fragrance.

Pretty self explanatory. Now if I hadn't tried this at a friend's house before I bought it I never would've taken the plunge since it seems a little steep for a tinted moisturizer.

My skin is dry and tends to get oily if I don't set my makeup properly etc etc

As you can see, I bought the lightest shade because it's what seemed most suited to my face.
My friend has a shade darker so it looked like I had tanned...only my face ffffffff

Swatch on my hand!

Before application: Some red spots and dullness

[no photoshop. happy dayyy]

And after! And set with MAC powder that I've reviewed before in my other entry.

I've been using smashbox for a few weeks now and I love it.
MY SKIN IS DRINKING THIS UP
I feel that it really keeps my skin supple and bouncy and I don't need much coverage.
I think it's also been improving my skin because instead of heavy concealer/foundation I just slap this on and some setting powder and I'm ready to go. If I need extra coverage I just put more layers of it on.

I wouldn't recommend this for people with very obvious discoloration/difference in skin texture like acne etc
I feel that it wouldn't cover much but I like it a lot.
I'll repurchase unless I can find something better.
But I doubt it since I'm loving what it's doing for my skin.

ONTO THE NEXT ITEM:

My first expensive lipstick! How excitinfg!
One of my dear friends perlevoire has a discount at the store she works at so I grabbed one of these!

Description from the website:
A modern interpretation of classic creme lip colour as an homage to the rich life and legacy of 'Coco' Chanel. Lightweight lip colour glides on for easy application, and features a Hydratendre complex to help soften, soothe and condition lips - even boosting their ability to hold in moisture - for a plumper, smoother and healthier-looking appearance. A range of wearable shades with full-coverage finishes, from matte to pearl to soft shimmer.

The shade I grabbed was Rose Dentelle
I looove it. It's my lips but better shade and it goes with any outfit any occasion
I can't say it's too hydrating because my REVLON lip butters are way better.
This one flakes on my lips but if I layer it with a clear gloss I'm content
I also think that it lasts quite a while for me so I'm happy!

I'm really wanting to try some YSL next but I'm running out of shades to buy zzz

I also have some outfit snaps of a new hairstyle I tried.
Take a high ponytail and amp it up by curling the ends.
Super cute and the high ponytail gives your hair some volume up at top~

OOTD for that day

I also got a new phoooone but more on that next time!

review// JOICO K-PAK RECONSTRUCT SHAMPOO

I'm back again with a review!

I'm really guilty of this, but do any of you just totally ignore your hair? Like sure you buy something for it occasionally, but just use whatever shampoo/conditioner you have around?

I'm like that. I focus on the after shower treatments like trying not to style with heat so often, and getting a leave-in treatment [reviews on that one later]

But now I realize recovery starts from the very beginning. Starting with your shampoo.

INTRODUCING MY LIFE CHANGER:

Item Description:

The Joico K-Pak Reconstruct Shampoo ensures the reconstruction process of your hair using a unique cream foundation enriched with Joico's exclusive Keratin Silicone Complex. It features a balance of 19 essential amino acids that are considered to be the building blocks of hair. The shampoo adheres quickly and effectively to ensure maximum protection and restoration from the cuticle to the cortex. This color safe shampoo also retains and protects the color of your hair. It provides the hair with sufficient elasticity, strength and shine. The damaged hair shampoo must be applied to wet hair to create a rich lather. For optimum results, repeat the process after the first rinsing. The Joico K-Pak shampoo is the ideal for treating damaged hair.
Joico K Pak Reconstruct Shampoo:
  • 10.1 fl oz.
  • Specially made for damaged hair.
  • Color-safe.
  • Imparts elasticity, strength and shine to the hair.

  • At work, Halloween .Just after dying my hair brown! It's dry at the end and tangles super easily. You can see the ends being quite frizzy.

The day after I first used K-PAK shampoo. Texture is much smoother and though it looks frizzy, those are just fly-aways from the wind. Ends are much better and overall my hair is smooth!

My hair type is coarse, dry, and super super thick. Basically the top 3 worst hair types combined into one. My good friend who does my hair absolutely hates when I come in asking for color done. lmao

She says I have enough hair on my head for 2 people.
    [It's that bad]

For the shampoo, the instructions are easy. Lather rinse repeat.
The consistency is thick and super easy to use throughout your hair. Lathers easily and rinses out clean but gentle. My hair doesn't tangle as much in the shower. It's also much quicker to blow dry and my hair is smooooth once it's all dry.

So this is a definite repurchase and I'm eyeing the conditioner/treatment set.

I will pamper my hair from now on, I promise. Especially since I want to go lighter~

hobbies: what are yours? // new hair wants

    Hobbies are such interesting things.
Some people are surprising with what they do in their spare time.
Others have hobbies that suit their image perfectly.

Lately I've decided that getting more into shape was an issue and I needed to work on being more personable/outgoing.
So I decided to try social dancing!

As of now I've tried Swing and Blues and they're both super super fun! The energy of swing is amazing, but blues has a connection and sensuality to it.
I'm going again today [probably the last time for a while because of school haha]

What are your guys' hobbies other than blogging? I'd love to know!

I'm also thinking of changing my hair recently!
Not a big change, mind you.

My dip dye/ombre hair is dark auburn on top and right orange-red on bottom. But lately I've wanted to go a light brown on top. Just like Victoria from f(x) in NU ABO.

    It just looks so elegant!
I'll think hard about it. I -do- want to go a lighter shade for the warmer weather.

    Punky Colour: FLAME//review

Hi guys! Today I'll be reviewing something I just bought today! Crazy I know!

Recently my red ombre was fading and it was bringing me down because I love bright colors in my hair. So after work I popped by a Shoppers and bought Punky Colour. I debated whether I wanted a warm red/pink red/or purple red but finally decided on the true red called 'Flame'

I left it in for half an hour and it's gorgeous! Super easy to use and super thick so it didn't run all over the place. I didn't notice any staining in my bathtub nor on the counters. Super easy to clean up and only 12 dollars for a tub.
What I love most about dying my hair now is that it's ombre and I only need to do the tips. Sooo low maintenance.
I'll be definitely using this again in between salon appointments and I don't feel any damage done to my already abused hair haha.
I just wish it was a truer red. It came out a hiiiint of orange. Still, can't complain.

    Color Accuracy: 4/5
    Ease of Use: 5/5
Price: 4.5/5 [I'm super cheap Asian. I hate shelling out money for myself. :C]

    [BEFORE: with flash[

    [AFTER: without flash]
I was bad. I didn't take both pics without flash. But I didn't retouch the photos/alter the color at all!
This is truly how vibrant it came out!
So happy. I can't wait to see it in the sunlight.

Holiday Spirit!// Dolly Wink liquid eyeliner review// life snaps

Hi guys! How is everybody's Christmas?
I hope it was wonderful regardless of religion!
I know our family still celebrates!

As for me, I've been busy shopping and taking some time off for myself. Reading some of my favorite books.
My boyfriend and I recently had our 2 year anniversary so we spent a whole day together and had a nice dinner at White Spot!
I'm planning a couples shoot too, so more on that when it actually happens! :3

Also I got new hair done recently. Dark auburn all over except for a bright red ombre at the bottom.
    LOVE!

I'll just post some pics and leave you all with well wishes!

Friend's dog who lives nearby! He's out of the province for schooling so the bf and I dropped by the house to wish his mum a happy birthday!

The place where I work is magical HAHA

I leave you guys with this song I've been listening to recently! It suits the holidays perfectly in my opinion.

[why does leopard print suit christm-]
    ENOUGH QUESTIONS, GOODBYE

I think it's the general sense of 'up to no good' and the red lips and smokey eyes that makes me think of the holiday nights ;D

    Happy November!

Ahhh I missed blogging about Halloween but that's okay because I had fun despite not going trick-or-treating like I usually do!
[I might be too old, but I can usually pass for younger so I think it's okay. I'm still a kid at heart u___u]

This year I was in school working, but since the teacher had a 'sick' day we decided to catch up on assignments, order pizza, and play Amnesia.  If you don't game a lot or listen to gamers talk, you wouldn't know Amnesia probably since it was released by an indie game studio.

Here's a funny video to explain what it's like to play. :D

I chickened out after the first 5 minutes when things are just moving on their own! Q___Q omg all the guys manned up and played despite being scared. The worst feel is when you turn a corner and one of the monsters is right in front of you. AHHHH
You can't fight/hurt them. You can only run. And you generally run slower than them.

It's so scary and perfect for Halloween!

Recently I've been in a few shoots because a lot of my friends are photographers and they need models. "Models" lol.  SO here are a few pics I especially liked that my friends took!

Also pictured here is Kathy who is the sweetest thing! <3

Next up in a Halloween themed dance that a local anime club was hosting.  It was super fun and really nice to see friends again that I hadn't seen since summer.

I was also in a hair photoshoot because a very close friend of mine was graduating salon school!
It was definitely an experience and I got to have my hair tortured lol but the result was awesome!

Sorry I haven't been blogging lately guys! All my spare time has been going to school!
I'll try to do some more reviews for you guys!

    VFS//dolly winks + new hair!

Hey guys I decided to update again because SO many things happened in the time I've been MIA!

I graduated VFS with my diploma in Classical Animation and with two finished films to boot!

    Here's my classical one

    Aaaaand my Flash one.

Please enjoy and let me know what you think!

Also I recently purchased a set of Dolly Winks in a group order with friends and omgosh I love them. So much care was put into making them and I feel the quality really shows! I haven't had a problem with them falling off after putting them on, so I assume it's just the glue I use haha. Sticks to anything >A<

All I have is a crappy webcam pic to show my first attempt at them, but I think it turned out well!
and then I'll picspam a few more of my other attempts to wear them ahaha~ I also wore them out to puri with my dear highschool friends and it was SO FUN. The machine printed the background all sparkly and glittery and hnnnfff so amazing looking~

Some of these pics will also show my new hair! Of course faded a bit, but it used to be cherry red rading to a radiant red at the tips.  Now it's more of a mahogany Q_Q the upkeep is crazy for this color sighh

Next time will be a post about Cos&Effect, Vancouver's 2 day con this year, as well as some choice shots from various photoshoots I participated in!
