What a whirlwind it's been and now I can finally sit down and have a breather

ALA was amazing.

We also went to Disneyland the day before with a few friends which was SUPER FUN

The weather was great the company was great

and the cosplays were AMAAAAZING

Mike and I wore a variety of cosplays. He wore Drakken and Nightwing

I wore Shego, Mio, Mulan, and Zatanna [phew I know. It was a mistake to bring that all.]

But we had tons of fun!

Whoaa sorry readers I've been busy.

ALA aka Anime Los Angeles is coming up and I'm super stressed getting ready for it and also work is busy too since it's Christmas soon and everyone wants to buy chocolates.

For ALA I'll be making Shego from Kim Possible, Zatanna from Young Justice season 2, and two more cosplays that are already done.

Since Mike is cosplaying with me I have to make Drakken and Nightwing too hahaha

Here's some progress pics though!

I bought a base suit from eBay as well as the base mask. But as you can see it's still a lot of work to do yet.

I've only been taking progress pics occasionally.

And all of Mike ahahahaha

Anyways onto the reviews:

LUSH advertises this as a really fun bath bomb WHICH IT WAS OMG

Mike bought this for me as a little gift to cheer me up when I was even more stressed out

and then I used it and bought another one because I loved it so much.

When you drop it in, it starts out as gold and transitions to blue AND THEN YELLOW STARS COME OUT. They dissolve over time which is handy.

And so the bath water turns blue, but there was golden swirls of very fine fine gold dust swirling. So everytime you move, the water glimmers.

It's gorgeous and a really great way to pamper yourself.

And finally onto my kirei greys!

I bought them from iszocirclelens and I love them!

They came faster than my other package from Lensvillage which I ordered first. So they're quite good!

Came in bubble wrap envelope and with these super cute lens cases! I can't wait to use them hahahaha. And even with a keychain. Not sure how practical it is but it helps me differentiate further from my other cases.

And finally.

The limbal ring is decently thick and keeps it from looking too unnatural. 

The enlargement is really good but not freaky. I feel like I can get away with wearing these with minimal makeup too.

The blending from brown to grey is really really nice. It only looks blended from far away though. 

Any closer and you can see the pupil opening.

Super duper comfy and exactly what I needed color wise. 

Not too dark but not super light either. 

I wanted a nice in between grey and that's what I got.

Also I reviewed these since there aren't nearly enough good reviews of the kirei's on dark eyes, especially this color. And since my eyes are a very very dark brown, this is as dark as they're going to get on eyes.

days are passing by

So much has happened since I last posted.
I'm happy but it's such a crazy rush.

I went to Fanime, a very large convention in California where I reconnected with friends from Sakuracon and also made new ones. It was an amazing time and I definitely want a repeat next year!
I went camping with my family and my sister and I both brought our s/o's haha.
I'm been drawing like crazy, trying to get prints done for a local convention.
I've also been feeling a bit self-conscious and withdrawn. I need to get out more! A day downtown with friends I haven't seen in a while would be nice.
I think I'll just picture spam some outfit posts/random pics until I can think of something to say more.

I'll be using this post to talk about the 2 day convention during August 13-14 at UBC of Vancouver AND also a local photoshoot that happened last week at Queen Elizabeth Park!

The convention was really fun because it was my first year selling art and I really wanted to prove to myself that I could earn something from my art. It was actually really invigorating to try and talk people into seeing what they liked about my art and how they liked it.  Some people didn't even need coercing to buy and were like "I'll take them all"

It was soo sweet and thank you so much to everyone to bought one of my bookmarks or collab prints with Snakeyhoho
It means the world to me!

These are what I was selling this year and I have leftovers if anyone's interested!

I was cosplaying as Vanille for both days of the con and it was great! So many people recognized me and SO many ff cosplayers were kind enough to ask for photos with them and I thought it was really kind that they would! On the second day one girl even asked to see my costume in 360 view [while I was sitting LOL] so I rotated slowly and she said she was also making a Vanille cosplay and wanted to know how I had done the back. It was super inspirational that someone would think I could be any help at all in making cosplay haha!

It just really felt like I leveled up in craftsmanship, you know? It's hard to explain the feeling, but it definitely made me want to try harder on cosplay and work on details and basic structure.  <3 Thank you to everyone for the hugs, compliments, and photo requests!

My friends T, N, and new friend W were all walking about in a group and it was amazing how many people hoarded for pics haha!

T came to us on the first day and was all 'omg there's this really attractive male Snow cosplayer at the con.'

Us: "REALLY?" and it turned out N knew him from Minicomi. He's super chill and was more than happy to walk around with us and private shoot. YOU'RE THE BEST, SNOW.

NOW ONTO LIGHTS AND CAMERAS!

If you aren't local or into the cosplay scene, you probably haven't heard of L&C, a photoshoot organized annually by friends of mine! They're always super enthusiastic about organizing the event and make sure there are fun activities and prizes to win~

This year was the 5th year running and this time they organized a scavenger hunt and TONS of cool prizes to win~

Unfortunately I couldn't participate because N and I had been dragged away for a private shoot which was super fun!
